Photo Friday: Winter Reflections

Winter Water Reflection Amalfi

When the sun shines, this is just about one of my favorite times of the year on the Amalfi Coast. Walking along the port in Amalfi, the air is cool and clear and the late afternoon light is magical. It’s the time of year to take a deep breath and get lost in the colors and light dancing across the water. It’s the time of year when you can feel Amalfi resting. Many shops and restaurants close for ferie, or holiday, something only dreamt about during the busy summer months. It’s a time of rest and recovery – for the body and the soul. The warm sun is a reminder that the spring is just around the corner, and soon the harbor will be busy with boats and the warm days will run away again one after another. But, for now, it’s time to breath in the refreshing sea air and to savor these simple winter days.

Ciao Laura all the best for 2011.
I am back at last catching up on all the posts I missed while I was away from computing while on an extended trip to the UK. I really missed Amalfi while I was absnt from the blogsphere so have enjoyed catching up this afternoon, with your gorgeous photos. Also enjoyed your end of year meme and learning a little more about you, for instance that you are the same age as my eldest daughter.

Welcome back, Linda! 🙂 I’m so happy you enjoyed the photos I’ve posted recently … and the meme, too. One of my goals this year is to share more personal writing on Ciao Amalfi, and the meme seemed like a good way to kick that off! Best wishes to you for 2011, too! 🙂

But The Travelers by @brunocesarcatalano in Amalfi has been extended to November 5, 2023. I wasn’t ready for them to travel on yet!
This morning I said my goodbyes to Bruno Catalano’s “Travelers” on my morning walk. Tomorrow I’m off to be a traveler myself and they’ll likely be gone by the time I’m back. They’ve been good company, but it’s time for them to move on to their next destination. 🧳
