Out & About: Doorway to Paradise

Ravello is a small and relatively level city, which means you can walk most of it without having to go up or down a ridiculous amount of steps. But there are a few parts of the city that are worth the hike up or down the steps or the steep, curving road. The city is full of beautiful surprises! One day while out exploring, I happened across what surely is the most evocative door I have ever seen. This is the entrance to the Hotel Parsifal, which leads to a terrace with one of Ravello’s justly famous views of the Amalfi Coast. A door like this just begs you to go in!

Two years ago I came down to the Amalfi Coast for just a few hours (we use to spend time in Terracina). I remember we had dinner in Ravello, out on a terrace while light faded. I wil never forget the night.

But The Travelers by @brunocesarcatalano in Amalfi has been extended to November 5, 2023. I wasn’t ready for them to travel on yet!
This morning I said my goodbyes to Bruno Catalano’s “Travelers” on my morning walk. Tomorrow I’m off to be a traveler myself and they’ll likely be gone by the time I’m back. They’ve been good company, but it’s time for them to move on to their next destination. 🧳
