View of Amalfi Harbor

A couple of weeks before I left Italy for this trip to America, I walked for the first time along the Via Maestra dei Villagi, an ancient footpath that connects Amalfi with the hamlets of Pastena, Lone, Vettica and high up in the mountains to Tovere and Pogerola. We walked it at sunset from Lone down to Amalfi, and just as we walked through a covered passageway next to the Church of Santa Maria del Pino we caught this evening view of the harbor of Amalfi from high above. I miss moments like this when I’m far away!

What a wonderful Amalfi blog to stumble upon! I cant wait to dig in and read.

If you only had 2 days in Amalfi, what would you do? Would you please refer me to any older posts on your site that might help me make a fabulous itinerary? I’ll be traveling there with my husband and 4 month old daughter in a month. Thanks!! Jessica

Every time I think about our trip to the Amalfi Coast, my heart skips a beat. Your pictures are beautiful.

  • I love seeing photos of the Amalfi coast. They always bring back great memories of visiting Capri. Thanks!

Beautiful! Laura, I tried to email you, but couldn’t. My 2 daughters, a friend, and I are coming to Italy for a once in a lifetime (probably) trip and I have a question for you. We have reserved Casa Floreal through Amalfi Coast rentals and I wondered if I made a wrong choice in not getting a place closer to the beautiful sea. We all love the ocean and would sunbathe and swim and of course thoroughly enjoy the view and proximity to the sea. It is in Pastena Lone. I spent well over 100 hours researching apartment rentals in Tuscany, Rome, and the Amalfi Coast. At this time, we’d lose our deposit, but I’m wondering if you could give us some information about Pastena Lone and if you know of any other 2 bedroom apartments close to the sea under E200/night (we need it for 6 nights May 26-June 1). I hope you don’t mind me asking, but it sounded like you were OK with people asking travel questions. Thanks for any help you can give us!! We are so looking forward to our amazing Italy vacation!
